I have a 6HP intek ohv engine on my champion ride on mower!
it turns over but thats all it does, i added fuel to the top of the carb (under the air filter) and it fired and ran for a few secs, the mower will not fire or run off the fuel going into the carb via fuel pipe so i took the fuel line of drained the tank put thresh petrol in it and checked the fuel feed. all this was good it still will not start so i took the carbuerettor off and sprayed through it with carb cleaner but this has not helped!
Any one got any ideas on what should be doe to get it right???? ????
Thanks For reading Joe

Hi Joe,
There's lots of little nooks and crannys inside these carbs that need to be gotten to. You said you took the carb off, but did you take the carb apart? The job can be kind of fiddly, but necessary to get the bad stuff out. Blow carb cleaner and compressed air through all the passages. Some folks will poke very thin wire through the passages as well. After that's all done, make sure the carb is back on and the seals between it and the engine are tight with no leaks.
You might take a look around at this fellows site. He just might have a video that will help diagnose the problem.

I have cleaned it through!
it now runs but hunts up and down the revs so i cleaned it once again and it still hunts??
Maybe the governor linkage is out of adjustment?

Since you ruled out the caruburetor, the next thing that I would probably check is spark to see if it's cutting out.

Hope the coil trick works out for you! Keep us updated! :)
