Sudden onset of over revving and high compression that wouldn't allow starter to crank the engine on Briggs&Stratton model 33R877-0009. Battery tested good with 12.7v and 370 cranking amps. Opened crank case and governor is broken into two pieces (on left side of attached picture), The other three pieces (on the right side of attached picture) were loose in the crank case and I'm not sure what they are or where they go. Any information greatly appreciated.

The round shaft with the flats is the oil pump drive. The crescent shaped part and pin are from the decompressor arm off the camshaft. It helps the engine start easier. You should buy a new cam if it broke off / came off.
