My Black and Decker 18" twin-blade mowers are a joy to use, but one has become very loud. A shrill noise is coming from the motor.

Can anyone suggest further investigation or repair?

The model number is U-273.

I would remove the motor cover and blow out all the grass clippings and dirt, and then try to lubricate the motor and spindle bushings (bearings).

If that doesn't work, the bearings are failing. Don't know if they're replaceable.
