Honda gets their engines certified by the EPA and the California Air Resources Board. Road vehicles (cars, motorcycles) also get US Department of Transportation certifications.

Today, Honda gets an engine certified by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). :thumbsup:

That's some cool history! :2th: I wonder if Honda jet engines have the same reputation for reliability that their piston engine cousins do. :scratch:

It is an amazing feat...

Makes 2,050 lbs. of thrust, weighs less than 400 lbs. A pair of these on the HondaJet will zip it along at 483 mph @ 40,000 feet. The HondaJet can climb at 4,000 feet per minute.
