I'm hoping someone can help. I have a 27 horsepower kohler engine On about 2005 craftsman garden tractor. it's only runs on a full choke indicating n intake for vacuum leak. before I go replacing intake and carburetor just wondering is there a common problem. it only has about 220 hours on it but not very well maintained. working on it for a friend of mine doesn't have much money to put into it so I am hoping to get it fixed without throwing a bunch of parts that it may not need on it. any help is appreciated thank you

Welcome to MLF dcolumbia. :)

Don't overlook the possibility that rather then too much air it might be not enough fuel causing the problem. First place I would look would be the fuel filter and vent in the gas cap. Then from there a carb fuel passage being partly blocked.

I was kind of thinking that it may not be getting enough fuel but got distracted from that possibility. Glad you brought that up again, Mark. Since I can not find a vacuum leak maybe starting with just some good old maintenance may be the best idea. I can't find a thread with a common problem on the kohler engines. I'll look at it again on friday. Any other thoughts are appreciated by anyone.
