hello, I was wondering if anyone has the Snapper model listed in the title and has replaced the disc drive.

Most people who have the disc drive models can just replace the disc for less than $20, however in this model, it would seem that I have to replace the entire assembly for $75.

I'd like to know if there is just a disc for it and if so the part # I need.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to MLF!
You might be missing a # on that model and if you could look on the tag, there also might be a part # for the mower and also the ser# and post it. That would help get the right part.

yea I thought that at first to, but this is the number parts tree uses.

The break down goes like this I think

25" deck
6.5HP engine
Model 7 series mower with Electric start so the part # is

25657BE

a 28" Hi Vac with a 8hp mower that is a series 12 with eletric start would be a 280812BE

they sell the assembly as a whole, but on most other models they sell the friction wheel or disc as a single item.

For a series 7 I show the part# as 5-7337 which is available here for @$15
Jacks Small Engines Search

This is what I'm looking at:
View attachment ser 7.pdf
Is this what you have?
BTW the part has been superceeded but looks like its available.
Let me know if that works

yea thats it - I just came here to post that their names are so similar - disc drive assembly and drive disc that I had them confused. Once I got the mower up on its back I could clearly see what I needed.

Much cheaper option.

Thanks

and actually I did have the model number wrong. There is a 25657BE but mine is actually a 26657BE

Well good deal! Thanks for the update. It sounds like you'll be up and running shortly. It still is a series 7 so you should still be right on tract.
Feel free to check back in and hang out awhile and enjoy the forums!:)
