14 HP Murray ignition issues! HELP

I was not getting a spark to my coil so I disconnected the ignition wire to it. I turned the key and it started. Now I have to jump across the cellinoid to get it to start. Does this mean that I have a ground problem with my cellinoid and a bad ignition switch. I feel like I am starting to chase my tail on this. Can someone please help!
