2-cycle carb adjustment tools....

Hi guys,
I've finally come to the conclusion that I need to get a set of carb adjustment tools for trimmers and chainsaws.I've managed to get by on my own equipment without them, but now I have people bringing stuff to me,and I'm sick of having to try and adjust mixture screws without the proper tool.

I've looked on Amazon and their are plenty of sets available, but after reading all the negative comments about the poor quality("It broke the first time I used it!") of many of these tools,I'm afraid to pull the trigger on a set.

Can anyone recommend a set/brand that are good quality from actual experience with them? Thanks much.

You might need to be creative, the repair shops and end users are not supposed to have them. I worked for a Canadian distributor, we could get them from a few OEM's but not easily and they were ridiculously expensive. The powers that be finally decided not to stock them.

Well,I take that to mean, obviously, "non-factory authorized repair shops" are not supposed to have them.

I guess,I'll take my chances on getting a poor quality set and just buy some.

There's a machine shop not far from me and the guy offered to make me a set if I could give him something to go by-which means buy a set.I was hoping to not have to go the custom-made route to get a decent set and save myself a lot of money.

Thanks for the reply.

Our understanding was they are not supposed to go beyond the OEM. They can adjust the carburetor when assembling the unit but that is it. One missive from They That Know Best said the fine for unauthorized use was $3700 per violation. Of course you and I both know how far that flies.
