honda g300 ignition coil

Hi everyone,

i have a small generator with a honda g300 engine.

Cant get a spark. Stripped it down and checked the ignition coil. Its showing 16 ohm through secondary coil - spec says should only be 6 ohm so looks like its bad. Been trying to find a replacement coil / condenser. There are lots around all showing the same part number. They all look like my faulty one but most of the ones I see have 4 wires . that is the main HT cable plus 3 others. My faulty coil has the HT cable plus only 2 other wires - one from the condenser which connects to the points and the other connects to the on / off switch.

Is the HT and 3 wire unit for a different G300 (electric start ???) and would that fit on my pull start or is it a completely different unit from mine ?

Any advice would be appreciated
thanks

I was having problems finding parts for a small generator and found this place, Love It!! They seem to have almost any engine part for the generators listed. Hope this will help in your search. https://www.generatorguru.com/
