B & S 3.5

My old B & S WON'T START. 4 WEEKS BACK SAME PROBLEM, I opened and cleaned the carb and it started but now no luck. Any ideas appreciated. [email protected]

this is pretty common, cleaning it didnt get it all so its clogged again after sitting

just buy another carb for it, they are like $10 on ebay so its not worth your time to even bother cleaning them any more.

take the gas tank off and shake it up real good with some fresh gas, then pour the old gas on an ant hill, often they get bits of stuff that float and could be part of the trouble

b & s wont start

Thanks. I followed your advice, cleaned carb and it started OK, but then it sped up and then slowed down and then stopped after 30 secs. Looks like a governor problem as speed changed wildly. Not sure if I put the feedback spring properly, hence attached pic.

Welcome to MLF, Ken. This video shows a close up of the linkage at the one minute mark. Your spring is definitely in the wrong spot.
