solution for those small expensive batteries

i posted this in the snapper forum but other mowers use the small batteries too so i wanted to post it here as well

for those of you frustrated by those small new batteries that cost $80 when regular batteries are only $25

the simple solution (beside retrofitting the old style batteries to work) is to not buy a lawn mower battery for it

just buy a YTX12-BS Motorcycle Battery, it has the exact same specs and size as the oem battery and it costs only $32

YTX12-BS Motorcycle Battery

Specifications of the YTX12-BS Battery

Voltage: 12 Volt
Amperage: 10 AH
Chemistry: SLA, AGM
Terminal: Nut & Bolt
Battery Dimensions:
5.94 in long x 3.43 in deep x 5.11 in high
Weight: 7.94 Lbs

i bought one for my dads mower last year and i just bought one for my mower this week for $31.99 with free shipping on ebay

You can only learn if you ask the question, so there are no dumb questions.

Have you test the Ah real output? I've been burnt a few times with Chinese batteries. Luckily I paid with PayPal and was reimbursed under the "not as described" clause. If it says 10A/h it should be within 95%
