I've recently acquired an older Simplicity Sovereign 716 Hydro (not running) that I was hoping to use for tilling the garden and snow blowing. There are a couple of problems with it and I would like to ask for opinions as I know nothing about Simplicity tractors.
So far, I've found that the carb float has been sinking and/or the inlet valve is not seating and it floods the engine. Also, there is spark but it's very weak. So weak in fact that it will not jump the spark plug gap.
I would like to ask if it would be worth the expense and bother to put an old Simplicity tractor like this back into serviceable running condition? Are these tractors hard to find parts for? Are they easy or difficult to work on? It looks like I'd have to do a partial engine tear down just to access the ignition coil.
All opinions are welcome...
