How do you adjust idle on Briggs 9L602 w/ Pulsa Prime?
I picked up a nice looking Weedeater push mower for a few dollars. It needed a fuel tank cleaning, carb rebuild, and decarbonizing. So I did that and it cranks right up first pull and runs smooth and doesn't smoke. It's a Briggs engine model 9L602 1611 F1 and it says 300 on the engine shroud. I didn't see any adjustments for idle speed but when I start it up it seems like it's running too fast. I haven't put my tach on it because it was getting late when I finished up. It has a lever on the front of the tank where the carb springs go that you can move back and forth. It didn't change the idle when I moved it. What is that lever for? There's no mention of it in the mower manual, engine operators manual, or the Briggs repair manual. It's got that plastic pulsa-prime carburetor on it but I don't see any adjustment screws but do see a plastic wind vane in front of the flywheel that's tied to the carb linkages. Can anyone refer me to a adjustment procedure or is there one?
