HRR 216 poor cut

I just bought a hrr 216 to replace a older lawn boy . I was excited to try it out because they are suppose to cut so good but Iíve been rather disappointed . In mulch mode it leaves a lot of stragglers , wonít pick up grass that is laid over and sometimes leaves like a 3Ē strip inside the right hand side of the deck . To me this is unacceptable . The worn out lawn boy left a better cut. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution ? Besides **** canning it

Are the blades on the correct way, not mounted upside down by chance? Something is wrong, the description is not a normal cut for one of these.

Try bagging as an experiment. Frankly, I've found that Hondas tend to be much better baggers than mulchers.
