'Hat's a good idea!

If you own a lawn tractor, we'd like to hear from you. Take our online survey -- short and totally focused on lawn tractors -- and we'll send you a free General Transmissions hat. How's that for a deal? The survey's on our website, here's a link to take you directly to it: http://generaltransmissions.com/

Thanks in advance for sharing your lawn tractor thoughts!

GT transmission

I like CV trans !. Just wondering how long have they been in lawn tractors?? Then what brands have they been in?? Then what RPM input could they take??
I have the MTD Trans=Matic that has the movable center pulley . Changing the pulley position changes the belt speed. Simple and cheap.

Good questions, snowworks! And good to know you like CVTs. Actually CVTs have been around in lawn tractors for some time -- General Transmissions started making them for the U.S. lawn care industry several years ago, after we saw an opportunity for CVTs that required no maintenance and had proven reliability and performance. Our CVTs first appeared in lawn tractors in 2011. You'll find General Transmissions CVTs in products from many well-known brands, including Craftsman, Poulan PRO, Husqvarna, John Deere and McCulloch. As to adjusting the belt speeds on our transmissions, we cannot recommend that. We produce customized transmissions for all of our customers, and belt speed is set at the factory for optimum performance. In fact, it is important not to modify the tractor to produce more engine speed than the manufacturer recommends, so as to avoid damaging the CVT and other parts of the tractor. Hope this helps -- and I hope you take our survey on our website so we can send you a complementary General Transmissions ball cap! Here's the link to the survey in case you overlooked it: http://generaltransmissions.com/

Tried twice to submit survey but it threw an error both times and said invalid age selection. I had 46 - 55 selected both times. :dunno:

Hey, Mark. I'm sorry to hear you've had that problem with the survey. We'll check it out first thing tomorrow to see what the problem is and I'll let you know. Thanks for letting me know about it!

Just in case it turns out to be a browser specific issue, I run latest version of Firefox on Win10.

Mark, the survey problem was fixed! It seemed to be a matter of a bad dash mark somewhere. Thanks again for alerting me about the problem.
