I recently acquired a free Troy-Bilt Horse riding mower(Model # 14AT809H766) . It needs some work to get running. I can handle most of it like the starter, battery, and all that simple stuff. The thing that is baffling me is the PTO knob is connected to the bracket above the deck with some sort of rigged (tied in a knot with a bent nail thru the cotter pin hole) cable. There are two posts with cotter pin hole on the bracket and I can't figure out which parts I need to correctly hook up the PTO knob. I've searched the blowup diagrams on the Troy-Bilt website, but without the knowledge of where the two connections are suppose to be made to I can't find the parts I need to order. Any help would be appreciated!
Hello and welcome to MLF. Below is a link to Troy Built tractors. Click on the forth file up from the bottom to view the PTO engagement setup (pages 169-172). I hope this helps.
This is the issue I'm having, every manual I find is for the mower with the pto on the right side of the seat. The mower I have has it on the left side of the steering wheel. Mine also has a 46 in cutting deck.
I found an image of the top of the deck in the owners manual that kind of shows how its set up. Just gonna order new springs and a new cable and I should be able to get it figured out with this image.
