Exmark needs help, owner has glasses

I’ve got a 27 hp Laser Z EXmark...Just finished rebuild of kohler motor, replaced worn drive belt. upon test drive mower belt now appears to touch the drive tensioner arm. Looks to me as alignment changed, there were no spacers between clutch & drive pulley. The on line parts manual pic is not clear to verify the stackup from retaining washer to crankshaft shoulder. Cluctch works ok, deck spins but drags on tensioner arm. Also very close to clutch bracket attaching to underside of engine shelf. I need something to show pulley/ belt alignment. Thx. Jack

Welcome to the forum Jack!

What is your model and serial number on the Exmark? Maybe I can find a better diagram someplace.

So the rest of the story... I called the dealer in Tulare CA. Right off he said you probably have the clutch Pulley on up side down. And yes it will fit both ways. It moves the belt plane about 3/8”. Corrected the alignment problem. That’s exactly what was wrong. Thanks for you help. Even after the fact. It’s good to know there’s another source of help.

Glad you got it figured out.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
