Identify this Montgomery Ward Riding Mower

Picked this up recently. Doesn't run, tires flat et cetera, but appears to be 99% complete.

I've found two pics online of this thing, but leads to no information.

Has B&S 5hp 206cc engine. In the 4th pic, you can see the home made linkage. This is the only part that I know of is missing, nor do I know where to source parts.

Anyone know this oddball?

You might brows around here:
Gilson-Montgomery Ward Mfr's. - MyTractorForum.com - The Friendliest Tractor Forum and Best Place for Tractor Information
They are affiliated site and you might register there also. Good luck.

Should be engine numbers stamped on the shroud someplace. Probably stamped on the side above the exhaust. With those you could lookup the carb parts.

Operators and Parts Manual attached:
I found them on Briggs website: https://www.briggsandstratton.com/na...n_manuals_icon

You can then google the part number and see where they show up. Using "Briggs 260654" for a search term I found the following:

Appreciate the help.

I've got parts coming from Amazon! Found the parts I needed and also bought tire/tubes to go with it.

Gonna fill up the tank today and see if I can get the motor to purr.

I still haven't been a able to find anything on the mower itself. Not a big deal, but would be sorta neat to find out when it was made or what MFG actually built it.

Based on your engine code number-
85 (1985) 09 (September) 03 (day) 07 (assembly line #)

Found here- https://www.jackssmallengines.com/ja...l-locator.aspx

So I've got this mower posted on several different websites and NO ONE can identify it. It's a ghost. One guy even claims he sold mowers for MW and he doesn't recall seeing it at all.

I found out what this thing is today. It an MTD Lawn-flite 5/26..... 5hp w/ 26" deck.

I was hoping it was something a lil better than an MTD. Either way, I'm gonna use it until it pukes.

Here's some links if you're interested:

MTD made a lot of good machines thru the years past. Good luck on yours.
