Talking Any one mowing yet?

We got the first mow of the year in today. Just a small part of the yard but still fun. The machine of choice is the 2006 John Deere X520 with 54 inch mower.
First getting the sticks out of the yard.

Next the mowing.
Before

After

First off, nice machine, they are sure a pleasure to use the say the very least!

No, haven't mowed yet this year here, grass is still very dormant. Normally our lawn starts to perk up mid to late April and then starts growing like crazy. Still a week or two away yet from fertalizing it yet.

The hardest decision is going to be what machine to use for the first cut of the season.

Thanks for the compliment I love this tractor. I wish I had to pick which machine to use but this is the only one that runs. I haven't used any fertilizer but do mulch the leaves in the fall.

It hasn't snowed here in two months. Hopefully when you do get to mow you can get lots of seat time in.

Down here its warm enough in the winter to get seat time. So I stay on a tractor just about year round.

We're still several weeks out before anything is tall enough to cut. Highs in the low 40s°F and some snow flurries on the way will slow it down some.

But it is pretty and green. Nice to see green again!

Need mowing, but dreary day with snow in forecast. Look forward to 1st mow, but then about August saying "slow down, I need some free time". Use a JD X345 and a Gravely ZeroTurn. Purchased the ZT last year and still learning to operate. The ZT is fun to operate. The ZT are not as easy to operate as it appears when see them operated by a pro.
