Default Lawn-Boy Dura Force Spark Plug

Spark plug that was in the engine when I bought this 2 cycle, 6.5 HP Dura Force was a BPMR4A. Parts store tells me it should take a champion cs14? What gives?

The BPMR4A is a NGK plug; the CS14 is a Champion. Either one will work, but I think NGK plugs are higher quality.

Ok, according to partstree, the correct spark plug is kit 50-1170. If I search that number, it gets me to the NGK BPMR4A and I believe that is the plug that is in the machine right now. I would have been ok with that but the BUMBLING local parts guy lead me to the champion model stated above. On first inspection of what he gave me VS what was IN the machine got me to ask the question on this forum. Looks like the local Advance Auto parts store can get these NGK plugs for less than 3 dollars (instead of paying partstree and other stores 8 dollars for the 50-1170 kit).

8 bucks for a plug is a bit rich! 3 is about right. Glad you got it figured out!

Hi! The BPMR4A is the correct pug for the Duraforce but most guys will tell you the CJ14 will work fine. I do not believe the CJ8 to be correct for this mower although it may well run okay. Bill
