Wink New CTX series Craftsman -

Well, hardly new since it debuted a few months ago at the Detroit Auto Show but not due to release to the public until this month. Still, I thought some would find it interesting.

At $6500 for the garden tractor model, this machine is good looking and (with 30 HP) seems capable.

Nice machines! I like the new re-design. The grill and hood are attractive and it's nice they didn't style it after an alien.

It sounds like it's nearly got all the creature comforts of a car too!

Neat how it they now have FI. It's something that I know many will not like, but as long as the "bugs" are worked out and they opperate as they should, I think the system will prove to be a lot more stress free over the usual carb setup for a lot of folks.

"The evolution of creature comforts for these rigs will continue as well. In an interview with The New York Times' Jim Motavalli, a Craftsman spokesperson says that an iPod jack is planned as a future enhancement for its tractors."

Oh yeah, I need that. Maybe even an app will come along to allow retuning of the engine control computer.

Digital instrumentation, cruise control, tilt steering...looks like this is going to be a quite advanced garden tractor!

Doesn't that design look allot like the newer Simplicitys? Especially the bar grill and the light design looks like they almost copied the Simplicity Prestige.

Simplicity makes them for Sears to answer your question why it looks like a Simplicity. Roger

I see...didn't know that before. So that means the new Craftsman CTX is probably basically a Prestige under a different brand and color.

Not sure of the model that Sears used. Sears highest end tractor last year was also a rebadged Simplicity. Sears doesn't make anything so everthing they sell is rebadged from someone else. Roger

I did not know Simplicity was making any for Sears either. I figured they were all AYP made.
